The concept of thermal evaporation includes falling film, forced circulation, climbing film and natural circulation evaporators as well as rotating thin-layer evaporators for concentrating liquid streams.

This process increases the solid extract content and reduces volume by eliminating the solvent, which is usually water.

For heat sensitive products, this process operates under vacuum and this ensures a low temperature. The reduced residence time ensures the quality of products is kept at a maximum.

Energy consumption can be reduced by integrating mechanical and/or thermal compression equipment as well as using the multiple-effect technique.
